About
I am a vegan, long-distance running, writing, hiking, data-loving human bean.
In 2018, I left my job in academic publishing and hiked all 2,190 miles of the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. I thought that’s where my hiking story would end, but it was just the beginning. I fell in love with thru-hiking.
In 2019, I hiked 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail. In 2020, I stood at the Canadian border yet again, but this time walked southbound to complete the 273-mile Long Trail in Vermont. Soon after, I moved to New Hampshire to complete all 48 peaks above 4,000’.
Needless to say, there’s a lot to this hiking life I’ve been crafting over time. Primarily, it’s filled with time to look around, observe, and collect stories and data. I’d like to share some of it with you.
